I have it on good authority that the site fees for 2009 will be the same as 2008. Furthermore, with the VAT rate now at 15%, we will all get a net reduction.

Time flies when you're enjoying yourself FB - I think you mean the 2010 site fees are staying at the 2009 site fees, but at the lower VAT rate....

At least you know someone still checks the forum.

Yes you are quite correct - we do pay the fees in advance, which does confuse me somewhat. So we are both correct as I am referring to when and what we pay, not the actual year they relate to.

What does intrigue us, however, is why we still pay the Site Fees (FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR!) on 1 November - which was at the end of the old style season - and not in January which is now the end of the new style season.

Hmm, good question.

I suspect the answer lies somewhere in the fact that any maintenance work/improvements would still have to commence in November just to get them finished before the start of the new season. The fact that the site is still open in immaterial. However, the jetties were started before the site closed but still were not finished for the new season.

I did suggest that it would be a good idea if we could pay the fees in monthly installments over the year. However, SLP did not like this suggestion as it messed up their cash flow around the Winter time when they did most of the work on site.

I got the letter today confirming the new fees at last seasons level.
