We thought it might be nice to visit limefit at the begining of the weekend but were anto find out that there was no food available, the reception staff were again very helpfull and suggested that we visit a near bye pub.

Suprise Suprise it is only being run by Dutton Cuisine from White Cross !

They told us how there electric had gone off earlier due to Limefitt contractors digging up the power cables. Another bill on the way to SLP I fear for damages ( higher site fees then)

I have always found the staff at South Lakeland Parks incredibly helpful, having worked in hospitality myself I understand the constraints these people face. They are polite and helpful and always find a solution to any problems which may arise. I have holidayed there for the past 4 years with my disabled husband and the staff have always gone out of their way to assist and make our stay as comfortable as possible given my husband's disability.
The caravans are always spotlessly clean at SLP and we have nothing but praise for the staff at SLP. I am actually flabagasted that anyone could have gripes with the staff.

Hello 'fatkat', welcome aboard. Have just read your post - your comments about the 'staff' are 100% right and I believe everyone would agree with that. They are more than helpful and very friendly. I think you will find that it was the senior management of both park and head office that have been described in this forum as generally being the not so helpful ones.

I have to say that opinions on whether staff are helpful or not can be different from opposite sides of the fence - holiday makers and owners are indeed all customers BUT attitudes can be quite different when dealing with different types of customer - Holiday Maker vs Unit Owner.

From our personal experience, firstly as Holiday Makers - Never a problem - (as Potential Owners - Not a Problem) - But once they had our money when purchasing our lodge we were messed around no end, and the first year was a nightmare in getting the park management to authorise any jobs to be done, jobs that were promised as part of the purchase contract (some of which have never been done), the staff were willing but couldn't do anything until they were given the go-ahead. Now that our first year is over with and we are now well and truly established we can, however, understand how difficult it can be for the management to keep everyone happy - it's the pressure put on to the Sales Office to promise anything in order to clinch a sale, but to the purchaser it is set in concrete. After all we invest a huge amount of money into our lodges so you do expect a high standard of after sales service and customer care in return

Some owners who sublet have had problems with the cleaners, but these are subcontracted in by SLP - the SLP Housekeeper at Fallbarrow, where we are based, is wonderful and we have no complaints about the cleaners under her supervision. From our experience the Reservations Manager and her team at the SLP Head Office are also very helpful. The Site Fees are often a 'bone of contension' - but we do pay a lot, so we expect a lot in return. I believe that if you read the comments again you will find this to be the case and we would all agree with you that the general staff at SLP are great - even though they are under paid !!!!!!!

SLP Ownership has changed since some of the grievances were written and it is appears to be the case that the Senior Management at SLP are much better, prepared to listen and take on board some of the owners' issues. I have not been directly involved in meetings so I have no first hand experience to draw on, but it does seem to be the case when I speak to owners around the park. Most people appear to be happy now, and that is good.
