White Cross Bay 1st March

For owners on White Cross Bay, Lake Windermere

White Cross Bay 1st March

Postby huntedcamper on Sun Mar 02, 2008 6:40 pm

After reading the previous post I was a little concerned about what I would find at White Cross Bay.
I would like to thank Mr Watson, Darrel and Alex for there assistance at what was a minor problem with our lodge. Their proffesionalism and swift actions on what must have been a hard day for them was excellent. All three were observed still out in the rain early evening assisting owners and guests alike. I hope that the SLP Directors appreciate the effort these guys put into what I believe is an ever improving site. ( Sorry to the rest of the staff at WXB if I new all your names I would list them, but WELL DONE ).
The new Marina looks realy good, and the little work left to do I guess will be finished soon with Boats going in next week.
The water at Thirlmere had gone.
New lodges on the Lake front look realy good and the old play area has new Pitches and looks like a bomb site , but it needed something doing to it and I guess there will be 7 or 8 lodges there.
and thank the Lord those awfull seasonal tourers have gone. But please could we have lodges there not tourers. ( This is the first thing you see when you come onto the Park )

Again WELL DONE Mr Watson and his TEAM :P

Glad you seem to have had a more or less positive first weekend at WXB. It seems you fared better than most people at Fallbarrow but is does show that in most cases customer service is maintained by the dedicated staff.

I do feel that the management ethos on White Cross is changing.
I passed throught the complex earlier this week and witnessed what looked like a staff meeting.
It is hard to explain, Huntedcamper mentioned the TEAM, and I have to agree there are always lots of smiley happy faces, the grounds look fantastic for the time of year with REAL daffs everywhere, no trenches to encounter like fallbarrow.
I do think that things at White Cross are on the up. ( I dont just mean the bills).

"if you don't like it go elsewhere"
I feel that I must defend the " Local Management " at WXB. At no time have I ever heard of them suggesting that owners should go elsewhere.
They are a very professional team at WXB, this may be different on other parks and the fight must go on to improve their standards. I know that the salaries are not great and the hours are long, the WXB team show great pride in what they do.

I hope that the Directors at Natland appreciate what these people do on their behalf and recompense them accordingly. Many of them work 6 day weeks and well over 48 hours a week, yes it is their choice to work for SLP, but at a time when things are not going well on the Parks it is these people that are dealing with the problems and I would assume expected to rectify many of the problems.

I havent seen a Director for over 4 seasons at WXB.
