Patio Gas

Postby Fallbarrow on Wed Jul 09, 2008 7:01 pm

Hayes Garden Centre in Ambleside has stopped selling Calor Patio gas and now only sell BP Patio Gas. As a BP shareholder, I would normally support this move. However, I have already invested £60 in deposits for two Calor cylinders which Hayes won't (or can't) refund if I decided to go with BP Patio gas for my BBQ and patio heater.

I have also checked for the nearest Calor stockist to Fallbarrow and the name that came up was SLP but only for the mains type calor gas in 47kg cylinders and not suitable for barbies.

However, I have spoken with SLP and they have agreed to stock the 13kg patio gas cylinders on a trial basis. I have also been assured they will be competitive. Personally speaking I am not too fussed about a few quid either way if SLP are able to deliver replacement cylinders on demand.

The potential volumes involved will not be huge so it won't be a money spinner for SLP, but it would be a great additional service.

I was told that the garage in Windermere sells the canisters as well, but when I checked the Calor website, it was not listed. It did list the Troutbeck Bridge place though. Is that near to you guys?
