Today is the first birthday of this forum. It was launched onto an unsuspecting Cyber World and South Lakeland Parks at precisely 12-33 am on Christmas Eve 2007. In that time we have gathered 44 members who have created 103 topics and posted 425 replies.
It was originally created to put pressure onto SLP to modify and moderate their business practices. To this end it has succeeded. The relationship with SLP management certainly improved when Graham Hodgson and others suddenly left. We have seen significant progress with such issues as site fees and are currently in positive discussions about a fair contract/site licence. We know that SLP management and staff read this forum and we know that pressure exerted through this medium has produced results.
The forum has now evolved into and information sharing site rather than a pressure on SLP site, and that to my mind is a good thing. The more we can promote the benefits of owning a lodge or caravan on SLP sites the better for all concerned. This I believe will be the future for this forum but it can still be used very effectively to publicise legitimate grievances and disputes and hopefully contribute to an amicable resolution.
So please, lets promote and support this site as we close for the end of another season.
And finally, I would like to wish all contributors and readers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Regards
Fallbarrow (site admin)
