New Marina

Any idea how much the fees will be for berthing and launching at the new marina? At Fallbarrow it £1,300 per season for the privilege of tying up your boat onto a rickety wooden pier.

They also wanted to charge me £60 just to launch a canoe

There is a lot of work going on at White Cross, a new sewage pumping station system, well overdue and promised for years, is going ahead, the Marina is now being built, approx £3000 for a 30ft boat for the season, and what looks like refits on the hire fleet lodges, kitchens bathrooms etc.
There are also more pitches on Lakeside and a new 6 pitches for lodges on Deer Park. Hire fleet caravans replaced with Sale pitches and new hire fleet caravans are being sited.
Lots of money being spent but the staff still look a bit miffed, obviously no extra money for them, it will be interesting to see who stays and who goes as the season progresses.

Welcome to the forum Huntedcamper, good to have your input.

Interesting that there seems to be some investment in the infrastructure at WXB (sewage pumping etc). Would be interesting to know if such investment is being made because they have to due to regulations.

Did not realise that SLP charged by the foot on WXB (or is that just an example). If that is the case then £1,300 for my 17' boat must be a bargain (not when I can store it indoors Windermere Quays for less including launching and recovery).

At least SLP are spending some money
